Our crating team is looking for a skilled Woodworker / Carpenter to join our expanding crating operations team. They will be responsible for mostly crafting wooden structures according to the needs of our growing clients all over the United States. Ideal candidate is detail oriented and can work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. This is a full-time, hourly, warehouse staff position in Edison, New Jersey USA.
Responsibilities:
Assembling, disassembling, cutting materials for custom crates
General woodworking, carpentry with attention to detail and accuracy
Working with others in a team on in-house crating projects and on-sites (on demand)
Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with building codes and safety regulations
Complete applicable required job-specific training, cGMP, HS&E, Dangerous Goods, etc.
Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy, storing all materials in designated places.
Making sure warehouse is operational and always kept well organized
Organizing and disposing of unusable scrap at the end of the day or project
Requirements:
Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Able to read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications
Carpentry skills like measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join large wooden materials
Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment with narrow deadlines
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
Understanding of basic DOT rules and regulations
Physical ability to move/lift shipments of up to 75 lbs
Ability to work independently or in a team
Comfortable working with Hazmats
Reliable transportation to work
Other Skills, Experience, and Education:
Prior experience as a Woodworker or Carpenter
Some knowledge in using Crating & Blueprint softwares
Vocational High School is a plus
Detail oriented
